Home Again

Well, our flight landed almost exactly on time in Philly tonight, so we were able to get to our car in the Economy Lot and drive to my parents' house by about 6pm. Angie practically jumped out of the car and ran to the front door because she could see Adrian peaking out the window. The kids were very happy to see us and began showing us all the things they created during the past 5 days (drawings, booklets, colorings, art projects from school). And we were equally as happy to see them. Like Angie said, "It's almost like we never left."

I received a text message from our friend Don letting us know that someone is coming out to look at our Maple Shade house tomorrow. Of course, the lawn hasn't been mowed in 2 weeks, so I have to get my butt over there to mow it tomorrow morning. Thank God I took off tomorrow! Our new house needs a good mowing, too, but that will have to wait until late afternoon at the earliest now. We recently lowered the asking price of our Maple Shade house, so we're hoping that maybe, for once, we'll actually get an honest-to-God offer on it! That would be amazing! Even if it's a low-ball offer, we'd just like to get the dialogue going.

The kids are in bed and all is back to normal again.

It's good to be home...

2005 Chrysler Town & Country Sliding Door Fix

Our driver's side power sliding door has been acting up over the past year or so.  When you press the button inside the van or use the remote key chain fob to open the door, it will usually only open a few inches and then quit.  When it first started happening it would open pretty far and then quit, so I squirted some WD-40 inside the tracks thinking that something was blocking it.  That actually seemed to buy us some time because it started working again after that.  Over the past few months, though, the door was basically not powered anymore.  It would occasionally open about 2 inches and then stop.  Once open, it wouldn't even attempt to close when you pressed the button.  And if you manually closed the door, you really had to slam it because the motor wasn't taking over to close it all the way (you'll know what I'm talking about if you have one of these). A side effect of this problem was that our power door locks also stopped working within the ...

Star Wars Puzzle "You're all clear, kid."

We're working on a new 1,000-piece puzzle called, "You're all clear, kid." It's a Star Wars puzzle that prominently features the Millennium Falcon, Darth Vader, the Death Star, and all the primary characters from "A New Hope." It's been a difficult one so far because of the number of black pieces with "stars" on them, along with the number of white Falcon pieces. But we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Here is a picture of where we are now...

Fairmount Park River Rescue

Went to Fairmount park around 4pm today with the family for a bike ride around the park. As soon as we got there and parked, Dillon said to me, "There's a car in the water!" A minute later, he said, "Someone is inside!" It was the craziest thing I've ever witnessed. Thank God someone was there with a tire iron and a few guys swam out and busted the back window open!  One of the guys said he was her husband (he said this as he walked right past me).  We all felt completely helpless. I wanted to jump in and do something but I had nothing to break glass with. One witness said she saw the car accelerate into the river...  We just don't know if it was intentional. Crazy Easter!
